                    Kathy Yost Benham

“In my photography, I seek to evoke the interconnectedness and mystery of our world.   My work ranges from purist, realistic nature photography to playful exploration of abstract patterns and quirky glimpses of everyday life.   My eye is drawn to beauty.   At times I photograph to find beauty in the harshness of nature –not to shock the viewer, but to honor the subject and the rawness and depth of life.  How the image touches me defines the moment the shutter is clicked.”

Kathy Yost Benham’s photography has been in numerous juried shows including  solo  shows.  Venues also include:  corporate galleries, North Hospital of Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems (MCV), and a Richmond restaurant.   As a resident artist at Crossroads Art Center in Richmond , her work may be seen there on an ongoing basis.    She earned a Certificate in Photography from the New York Institute and has won several awards including a Merit Award from the New York Institute and an Honorable Mention in a Multi-media juried show.
