Like many photographers, at an early
age, I was drawn to photography watching my father work his magic in his
photo dark room. Seeing images
come alive in the developer tray made me want to do the same thing.
In high school, Dad gave me a 2¼ x 3¼ Speed Graphic.
Soon, I began taking pictures for the high school newspaper.
In college, I worked on the newspaper staff and later became the
senior photographer for the college yearbook.
That gave me a passport into a new world of commercial photography by
shooting weddings, proms, fires, funerals and more.
One photography highlight of my college days was making the front page
of the Sunday Edition of “The Oklahoman” with a shot of firemen in
action at a big blaze. After
college I hung up my camera using it occasionally to shoot family events.
Ten years ago I picked up my camera and started over.
I have been fortunate to have had a few images published in
calendars, books and magazines. But
more important, I’m having fun.
