Members' Gallery Submissions
The purpose of the Member's Gallery is to show your
images in the best possible way. Use care in choosing your images. These
images should be some of your best work. You are representing the Focus
Group Camera Club, to the world wide web, through your photographs. The following are the guidelines for submitting images
for the Member's Gallery:
- Submit either 4 images or 8 images. This number of images looks
the best on your page. We'll limit the number of images to 8 for now.
- Images should be a maximum of 400 pixels in width, at 96 DPI.
Length doesn't matter to much, but if it's to long, visitors will have
to scroll down to see the entire image.
- Images should be sRGB. Use Photoshop or your image editor to
convert to this profile. Make sure you "convert to profile" and not
"assign profile".
- Image file names should be of the format, lastname01.jpg. Use only
lower case letters in the file name and the .jpg extension. As an
example:
stout01.jpg
stout02.jpg
- The way you number your images is the way they will appear on your
gallery page. The first row of thumbnails will be #01, #02, #03, #04.
The second row of thumbnails will be #05, #06, #07, #08. Also note
that image #01 will be used on the Member's Galleries Page as the link
to your page.
- If you have captions for your images, include a text file or Word
file with
captions keyed to the file name of your images. In this file,
show how you want your name to appear, example: "The Charles Stout
Gallery".
- Please consider submitting your bio as part of your gallery page.
I think it adds to the presentation of your images, to know something
about the photographer. If you have a personal web site, this is the
place to talk about it.
- If you can, create a zip file of all your images, caption file and
bio and email to the address on
the Contact Us page.
