Charles Stout
In 1970 I was in the US Navy, on the USS Richard E Byrd, cruising around the Mediterranean. I saw this camera in the ships store, a Minolta SRT-101. Having nowhere else to spend my money, I bought the camera and a few rolls of film. Over the next four years I took thousands of slides in over twelve different countries. This was the start of my passion for photography.
After the Navy I married my wife Louise and put down my camera for a while. Two years later our daughter was born and out came the camera. Iíve been shooting ever since.
Back in 1999, looking for a way to combine my passion for photography, computers, and God's Word, I had an idea. Why not take pictures of God's beautiful creation, put Bible verses on the images, and make wallpaper (backgrounds) for computers. As people used their computers, they could see the beauty of God's creation and read a verse from His Word. Over the last 19 years 950,000 of my images have been downloaded.
